Hi

I found in the root folder of domino server data, several thousand files named wmxxxxxx.dat where xxxxxxx is a number.
Someone would know what they are used for?
Can they be purged?

Thank you all.

Multiple wm******.dat on domino data directory

Hi,

I'm actually having the same issue since FP7. (now running FP9)

I do purge them regularely and this seems to be not a problem.

They look like return receipts or something ? I'm not quite sure. Anyway they are all about a single user for me.

I was not able to find out what does create them, any idea ?

Thanks

These are temp files created during TNEF processing.
The TNEF stream is contained in an email message as an attachment named 'winmail.dat'.  The TNEF converter writes the TNEF stream to temp file; the name of the temp file matches the pattern you noted:  wm<random number>.dat.

These should be automatically cleaned up, so it seems that there's a problem here.  Please contact support with the details of this issue.  They'll create a PMR and route it to the appropriate development team.
