IBM : Spell checking in french - suggestion

Hi IBM,

I have seen this problem for years now and, unfortunately, I have no way to communicate this to IBM.

When I do a spelling mistake in writing french in a mail text on a word that has a hyphen like : "J'amie la France" instead of "J'aime la France", the spell checker will identify that there is a speeling mistake = OK.

However, it will NOT be able to suggest a correct spelling.

Now if I write "J' amie la France" with a space (which is incorrect), it will both identify that there is a mistake and do suggestions.

Is that clear ?

So, please, improve the french spell checker in order that it suggests corrections on a word following an hypen.

Thanks in the name of the Notes French users.

Jean-Pierre Bloch.

RE: IBM : Spell checking in french - suggestion

Bonjour Jean-Pierre and to all French Lotus Notes users.

If you are not aware, the appropriate channel to report such an issue with IBM is as follows:

(1) Open a PMR with the Lotus Notes Support team

(2) Report your issue in the PMR.

The Lotus Notes Support Engineer will then investigate and verify your issue. Assuming the problem is confirmed to be a defect, the Support Engineer will submit an SPR (defect) again Lotus Notes, which will then be queued with Development based on a weighting system based on urgency  i.e. the SPRs with the highest level of urgency get picked up first.

In your case, there already seems to be an SPR submitted for this problem in SPR RHOE8DHK2Y.

I can tell you that at this point, the SPR has insufficient weight to be fixed in the near futrue.

I would advise that you submit a PMR requesting that your PMR be subscribed to SPR RHOE8DHK2Y, thus increasing its weight. The more PMRs added to this SPR increase the chances of this issue being corrected sooner.

Regards,

Paul

Thanks Paul

Although I am an old user, developer and adminstrator on Lotus Notes, I never went through this PMR system.

Thanks for your very detail response.

I will try to add my vote so it will get corrected some time.
