No access to console (Domino Administrator)

Hi all,

recently, I have (sometimes, can't figure out what is cousing it) problems that my Domino Administrator won't open Server Console, it will display message: "Network operation did not complete in a reasonable amount of time, please retry" and I will get little red icon with message No Access to Console on the Server / Status tab. What did I notice, if I open console on the server and issue some commands, they (again, sometimes) will be accepted and after that my administrator client will work normally. If that doesn't help, I tried to close console and open it again and then it will work. It is like console on the server "push or wake" something and then everything is fine.

I've tried to change system variables (per IBM support) to C:\Temp (it was C:\Windows\Temp). My Domino server is started under service ladmin and user variable is ladmi~.SBH (8.3). Don't know what is cousing this problem because this server is up for years and there wasn't any change to it (or to variables). Only thing that is applied are Windows patches. Other servers are setup same as this one and they don't have problem.

Thanks!

Outside chance it could be what I ran into (cf 853)

This happened to me on an old server that was always working, it was just starting to creep very slowly.

Turned out, a bunch of servers had been retired and it was still trying to replicate with 'em.

Took a while to track them down, too. Not a simple thing.

The way it impacted, it slowed the server down so much, Domino Admin couldn't get a response in a "reasonable amount of time".

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. In our case I don't believe that this could be the problem because all our servers are OK and we don't have old ones that aren't active.
