Internet user certificates...

I am setting up Internet Certificates for individual users at a client site.

According to the documentation, I am supposed to select a user in the Administration Client and select Action \ Ad Internet cert to selected people.

I then select the certifier ring file and password (d:\dominodata\keyfile.kyr) and supply the password for the .kyr file. This provides the following error:

"The ID file is nto a Certified ID file and cannot be used to issue certificates..."

This error does not make much sense as I did not select a Certified ID file but a .kyr file...

Any ideas on what the problem is or what direction I should look??

(Domino 9.0)

cert.id?

Perhaps I am misunderstanding how all this works...

Two years ago I setup SSL on the server. I bough a SSL certificate from GoDady.

Now I want to install internet certificate in each users, user.id file to enable users to sign Internet email and encrypt Internet email.

I though that I could utilize the existing "keyring" on the Domino server and in the admin client select; Actions \ Add Internet Cert to Selected People.

If I am understanding this correctly where do I locate the cert.id file to use?

In case I am misunderstanding this; how to I go about to deploy third party trusted Internet Certificated in users user.id files? All the help documentation seems to assume the use of the Domino server as a self certifyer.
