In my experience, setting the remove docs days value has a limit of deletion stubs it will purge at any one time. I never bothered to deep dive on it to figure out what that number was, but it might delete that number each time you reset it to 0. It was always easier for me to use Barry's advice and just blow them away with delstubs.exe.

As I mentioned, I didn't have the need to drill down on it. I remember guessing it was likely to be a magic number like 32K, but that was the sort of guessing made in passing from a barely observed occurrence.
