ECLs not changing with security setting policy automatically on workstations

Hello,

In my domain I created a new user account.  I also created the new user in Domino.  In my Domino settings I added a Security Settings Policy where I modified the Execution Control list tab Using Admin ECL, Update mode is refresh, Update frequency is When Admin ECL Changes, All Inherit check mark boxes are checked, and all Enforce check mark boxes are checked.

I log in as the user the first time and then start the Notes client.  Answer a couple qustions and then the client starts.  At this point the client gets the ECLs from my Admin ECL perfectly.  I then logout of the the notes client, make changes to the Admin ECL, log back into the Notes client and the changes are not there.  Why is this when I have the security setting set to refresh if the Admin ECL changes?

Thank you

How long are you waiting?
Also, did you change the ECL on admin server and let it replicate to the user's mail server where the Policy would pull it from?

Hello Chris,

Thank you for the reply.  I thought it would be pretty immiated being the setting says next authentication which occurs when the user logs in.  But to answer your question just a minute or so.  Also, this is just a test server so it is the one and only server.  I guess I could have mentioned all that in the beginning.

Something else, the Domino Admin user account I made sure in the ECLs it shows permission for that user to modify ECLs.

In the Domino documentation it shows the method of sending out a memo with a button using the @RefreshECL formula, I have done this and it works.  As soon as the button is pushed I can see the ECL refresh.  So not sure why it does not automatically when the user logs in.

Thank you

But what is "logging in"?
Yes, the next time the user connects to the home server it should update the ECL. But just logging into Notes without connecting to the server may not immediately update. You'll probably want to try opening the mail file and then taking a look at the ECL.
