Any help would be appreciated.

suggestion

I take the 2 servers are clustered.   I am thinking blocking the ip address on the traveler server to the mail server would then make it fail over to the cluster pair

NO , the drmail server is not in the cluster.

Is there any technote / documentation regarding IBM Traveler communication with mail servers.

Port used by a Traveler server to connect to a Domino mail server

The connections that a Traveler server would make to a Domino mail server would be over Port 1352 TCP.

Can be done.

I am not aware of any functionality in Traveler to specify an alternate mail server.  Traveler uses the mail server configured in the person document to sync with.  If you wanted to us another then you will need a separate Domino Directory.

One way to do this would be to create a new Domino Domain for your Traveler servers and copy Traveler user person document in to this Domino Directory and modify them with the DR server as their mail server.  This could be a pain to manage as when the HTTP password changes (or any name field for that matter) you would have to do it again but you could script this.

Traveler Server to Email Server communication

I think my problem did not elaborated enough to understand. Let me do it again.

I have a mail cluster at primary site and a Mail server at DR Site not cluster but in the same domino domain. Mails replicated every 3 hours.

IBM Traveler server is in the primary site and working fine.

Now i want to test DR of Traveler server. When i start the Traveler server from DR Site it always try to connect with user's mailbox home server ( which is at primary site ) instead of Mail server at DR Site.

Now my questions are,

1. How can i configure traveler server to connect with DR Mail server when Primary Servers are down.

MY own guessing is ( Traveler server failover to Servers one by one which are cluster member ) so making DR Mail server cluster member solve the problem.

Dear All , please suggest or comment .

Correct.

The primary and DR mail servers must be in a cluster for Traveler to failover to the DR mail server.
