Hi,

I have a Domino 7.0.1 running on a 32 bit Windows Server. My databases (Lotus client and web) are somehow running slow due to the large number of users accessing it and the size of the databases.

We are currently implementing a strategy to reduce the size. Note that the code and views of the database are optimized.

I need to know if by upgrading only to Domino 9.x, to a 64 bit environment, will this, by itself, give my dbs a performance boost because of the new Domino platform?

This way the server can use more than 4 GB Ram and benefit from the multi-core OS

I would like to hear from your experience after upgrading … without forgetting that we will also be upgrading Lotus Clients..

Thank you

Some info...

Here are some links that describe the increase in performance when upgrading or when switching to a 64-bit platform:

Updating to a current (and supported) version, as well as optimizing your installation, should make a huge difference.
