You are attempting to upgrade a Multi user installation

I'm trying to install Administrator on a windows server that already has Notes server installed. The Notes client is not installed.  When I try to install it comes up saying "You are attempting to upgrade a multi user installation. Please obtain the correct installation package to complete the upgrade"  I've searched and found documents that say this is because I have installed the client for multi user but the client software is not installed.

Is this because I can't install Administrator on the same machine as the server? Do I need to install somewhere else?

upgrade Notes Client

The error indicates that you currently have a Lotus Notes Multi User client installed on the workstation.  In order to install the Notes Admin Client/Developer client/Notes client, you will need to un-install the current notes client, and then re-install the new software package.  When you install the new software (Notes Admin Client), the data directory will be placed in a different location by default, and you will need to move the files from your current Data Directory to the new location.
