I do not have my vault ID. Since my vault is useless without this vault ID, I'd like to remove the vault from the domino server. Is it just a matter of deleting the vault document from the directory, or will that cause other problems? All of the documentation on doing this indicates you need the vault ID to remove the vault, but my not having this ID is exactly the reason I want to remove it.

RE possible to delete ID vault without vault ID

Hello Joseph,

I would suggest opening a PMR with support as there are a number of questions such as does your organisation use NSL, NFL or WFL etc.

However to delete the ID vault database when you cannot locate the vault ID file

  1. Take a binary backup of your Domino Directory (names.nsf) and ID Vault database

  2. Delete the ID Vault name from the policy documents.

  3. Delete the vault trust certificate(s) from the Domino Directory

  4. Delete the password reset certificate(s) from the Domino Directory

  5. Wait for a short while to make sure there are no issues such as any issues with users logging into the server.

  6. Delete the ID Vault database through the Administration client like any other database.

Graham.
