901 Install on El Capitan not launching

Hi Everyone

I have a mac user who recently upgraded to El Capitan.  We've been trying to install Notes on her machine.  It installs but when we try and launch it, a window comes up saying that Notes is starting 'please wait' then just closes and nothing happens.  I called IBM support but they have not been able to figure this out.  They had me look for a 'preferences' file which should be in the Library folder but that apparently is not getting created.  I was able to find a Data directory in 'IBM Notes > Contents>Resources>English.iproj>Data' and it is populated with a bunch of templates so it does seem to be getting installed.  The user has write privs to the Library folder.  I tried creating a file named 'Lotus Notes Data' and copied in a preferences file from a different user but that didn't do anything.   Any ideas on what else I can try?

thanks

clem

El Capitan is 64 bit

Hi Stuart

When my user upgraded to El Capitan, she was forced to install the 64 bit.  From what I can tell (and I'm not a mac expert), the files are installed ok.  But for some reason, it just won't launch.  No error.  It just starts, then exists.

thanks

Solved

The problem was the files from the previous install.  I deleted the entire Notes folder then ran the install again.  It worked.  It did complain about not seeing the names.nsf file but I retreived it from trash and it eventually installed successfully.
