Hi,

my friends I'm changing LOG parameter in notes.ini file. But after I restart server the parameter change go back the initial value. What might be happening? I'm changed notes.ini file in every way.  By the Administrator configuration environment, for the command  SET CONF in console,  and also editing the file, changing the parameter, and saving with domino server task down. In every way the value of the parameter return. What to do? Help-me please !!!

Check your config doc
It probably has the log parameter, and it's being reset when applied. Out of curiosity, what are you wanting to change that parameter to? I think it's a rare case to need to stray from the defaults.

Answer

First check if in your Server Configuration document has notes.ini settings added.

Now go to the Domino server console and type in, "set conf LOG=log_New.nsf,1,0,7,15000", 15000 is the page length shown in log, 7 the number of days.

to check it go to the Domino server console and type in, "sh conf log*".

When the server restarts a new log will be made.

Note: The log can be deleted, or renamed when the domino server is offline and a new log is made automatically.

change Notes.ini

Are you running the notes administrative client on the same machine as the dominio server?  Also, ensure that you have complete access (OS level Access to the notes.ini).

Check configuration documents

Open names.sf, view Configurations, check ALL Configuration documents, "notes.ini" tab if an admin has not put the log parameter there just in case....
