Mixed Version Cluster - Resource Reservations

We are migrating our Domino servers from iSeries to Windows. The two iSeries servers are clustered, both running Domino 8.5.1. One of the new Windows servers is built, running Domino 9.0.1FP10HF66. I've replicated nearly all the mail files to this new server. I'm planning to remove the second iSeries from the cluster and add the new Windows server. From what I've read there is no problem running two versions of Domino in a cluster.

My question concerns the Resource Reservations db. When I create a replica on the Domino 9 server, should I upgrade the design? Will that cause any problems?

Any input would be appreciated.

IBM always stated that templates are backward compatible.    Based on that make both replicas the 9.01 design.   The reservations request are done are via code on core server and not by agents.  To add and maintain the resource db I would do everything on the 9.01 server and let changes replicate over to the 8.5.3 server
