recipient in local internet domain not found

I am having a problem with one internal email address which is a Distribution list always being sent to the SMTP Host and out off the network. I have checked to see if there are any duplicates in the Domino Directory ( Ctrl+Shift, $User view) and unable to find any.

There is no mailbox assigned to this address. It is defined as a group type of "Multi-Purpose" and has two members defined.

Any ideas as to what else to check?
