I have a users who spends a lot of time working in Arabic. #He has arabic installed on his machine. He can send and receive e-mail in arabic in IBM Notes. He can write an e-mail in arabic from the Notes client.

He can write create a word document in Arabic.

BUT When he tried to cut and paste the arabic text from Word to a Notes  the characters are converted to goobledy-gook! When copiying and pasting to other media (this forum for example) the text remains arabic.

Example 1: - Text typed into Notes:

شركة ذات مسؤولية محدودة

Example 2: Text Typed into Word:

شركة ذات مسؤولية محدودة

Example 3: Same Text copied from Word and Pasted into Notes:

ÔÑßÉ ÐÇÊ ãÓÄæáíÉ ãÍÏæÏÉ

Any thoughts?

Many thanks

Test other email / webmail clients
Just a suggestion:  Test the same way in other email / webmail clients to ensure whether or not the issue lies with the font used in Word. Perhaps try another font which support Arabic in Word.

Copy past to different email client

Many thanks for the suggestion.

The user is able to copy from word and paste into Gail and this works fine. He then e-mails himself to his Notes mail and the e-mail correctly displays in the Notes Client.!
