2 data directory trees after multiuser installation

Hello,

on a multiuser installation of the Notes 9.0 Client, the installer creates the same Notes data directory twice.

One directory instance is named as IBM\Notes\Data... and the other Lotus\Notes\Data....

Is there a reason for that or simply a bug?

regards,

JT

One is a symlink to the other...
for backward/forward compatibility we create a symlink.  If this is clean install of Notes 9, we populate the IBM\Notes\Data directory and create a symlink from Lotus\Notes\Data to it. If this is an upgrade from Notes 8 (or older) we populate the Lotus\Notes\Data directory and create a symlink from IBM\Notes\Data to it.

RE: 2 data directory trees after multiuser installation

Thank you for the info,

is there a way to disable the creation of the symlink and only use the new directory structure?

regards

JT

Yes
If you set the property NOLEGACYSYMLINK=1 either on the installer command line or within a transform, then the symlink will not be created.
