Hi All,

I am trying to enable Data Service for "names.nsf", i followed the below steps but still i am not able to access.  Any help/suggestion on how to enable data service for this database will be helpful.  below are the details.

URL: http://<HOSTNAME>/names.nsf/api/data/collections

Error:

{
    "code":403,
    "text":"Forbidden",
    "message":"The Domino data service is not enabled for this database."
}

Steps:

Enabling Domino Data Service on a database

Each accessible database must be enabled to support the Domino Data Service.

  1. In Domino Designer or Notes®, do the following for each accessible database:
    1. Open the database properties.
    2. Click on the Advanced tab.
    3. For Allow Domino Data Service, select either:
      • Views only to restrict access to views
      • Views and documents for full access

Regards,

Works for me ...
It's true the data service cannot access names.nsf by default, but you should be able to change that by editing the database properties.

I just followed the steps you posted.  In my case, the Domino server is version 9.0.1.  In the Allow Domino Data Service field, I selected "Views and Documents".  Now when I GET a list of views, I see the response shown below.  Sorry, but I can't imagine why you are getting different results.

view properties?

You might also check the properties of the individual views. On the Advanced tab, there is a check box for 'Allow Domino Data Service operations'. I spot-checked a few on my names.nsf and they were all unchecked. Try enabling DDS on the ones you are interested in.
