WIndows 10 full from scratch Install

I've been trying to install notes designer, client and administrator on my windows 10 laptop.  I've read that I need fix pack 4 to do this, which I've now downloaded.  Problem is, it won't let me install the original notes 9 .exe meaning I can't get to the stage where I install any FP's!  Most of the postings I've seen seem to relate up grading to 10 with a pc that already has noes on it, not a full from scratch install on windows 10!   anyone any ideas??

Do you have Home version or Pro version of Windows 10?  Do you have administrator access in your WIndows account?  What error messages if any are you getting?  Turn off user account control settings.  I just installed a brand new Windows 10 pro OS and then notes, designer and administrator with minimal effort.

You might have a corrupt installer. Download Notes 9.0.1 again, I've been running Notes on Windows 10 from clean install for a few weeks now and only installed FP4 this week. So I suspect the installer you have might be no good.

Two possibilities

Dated entry here, but my install of Notes 9.01 originally failed on a new Windows 10 laptop.  I went searching and found this entry. 

I tried install a second time and it worked.  Two differences were:

1) I did not change focus from the install dialog - just left it finish.

2) Started install as admin. 

That allowed finish and then I applied Notes Client FP4.  All seems OK
