Console of Traveler server have overflow of many messages after syncing of one specific users phone:

... com.lotus.sync.util.ThreadPoolThread.run<ThreadPoolThread.java.489> BufferOverflowException Thrown: java.nio.BufferOverException...

...and server status goes to "Red". This lasts until 15 minutes, and then goes to the status of "Green".

The android application (Verse) was reinstaled. Problems are returning. Is problem in specific phone or we can change settings on a server?

Thanks you for your help

RE: Traveler goes to Red Status
Dada,

What version is your Traveler server including the Domino server?  ( ie "tell traveler version" output )

There is no record of an issue resulting in a  java.nio.BufferOverException  message while running Traveler.
Were there any recent changes to your environment?  Any JAVA updates to the JAVA  shipped with Domino?

More than likely,  we will need a complete set of sync logs to be collected by the support team so we can see in more
detail when the message is being logged.   The java.nio package is the newer JAVA input / output package replacing
the older java.io package and  could indicate some issue reading/writing to a resource which includes both local files as
well as network interfaces.

version

Hello Don,

on Domino 9.0.1 FP4 is version of Traveler 9.0.1.8 for a six months. No changes in past weeks. This specific phone is doing problems only. We noticed this a few weeks ago. In the log.nsf is nothing, only on a console monitor - very fast running of dump for a few seconds. We have a few of phones of this type without problems.

RE: Traveler goes to Red Status
Good day Dada,

We still will need more information which will be included in the sync logs for the device.  Your level of Traveler is a bit behind and is missing some key updates.
There was an issue discovered which went back to old versions of Traveler where duplicate account IDs were added to one of the DB tables.  We added a
tool which could detect and fix these issues.   Also, in 9.0.1.12, we addressed two security related issues including a XML External Entities Injection.  In 9.0.1.13,
there is also a new fix which impact devices using SyncML like Android Verse.  The device can get stuck in a loop syncing the same set of documents.  It may
only affect some users depending on their mail file content.

The mobile space evolves quickly and we are required to adjust our code in response to device manufacturer updates, therefore IBM strongly recommends
keeping your servers up to date.

Thanks

You are right. We will upgrade our servers in the nearest term. The problematic user was removed to server with an older version 9.0.1.6 and both of them are OK.
