What are the value for using Notes 9 if not using Connection in the organization ?

Dear all, 

I noticed some much change of Notes 9 social edition , however if we are not using connection in organization , what are the value to us ?

as I see many functions are actually link up with connection to make it so much social , share with me if I get it wrong ..
