I'm having a problem with the certificate ID.

One of our users ID is about to expire, so I tried to change the certification expiration and when I do a Certify from the Configuration tab, select the cert ID and write the password, I get the following error:

"The following error occurred whiel trying to update the certificates stored in the Certified ID with those from the directory on the server you selected:

Do you wish to continue without updating the Certifier ID?"

I've checked for the cert document at the Certifiers view, it exists. I've checked the public key from that document and compare it to the public key stored on the ID file .. it matches.

I saw that the public key from the user ID I need to certify is not matching the one registered for the user at his Person Document ... so I tryed to replace the public key on the Person Document with the one at the ID file ... same error, it doesn't matter (now I've reverted that change)

I also checked to  have the correct server opened when I pressed the Certify button.

I don't know what else to try. Any ideas?

Thanks

When you recertify the user and received the error "do you want to continue without updating the ID file", say yes, and then immediately recertify the file again.   This time it should complete without any errors.
