iNotes - can I remove ie9 emulation

iNotes pages are being generated with the meta-tag

<META http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE9" />

I assume this is for a very good reason, but it is causing compatability errors in IE 11 when custom scripts using ajax calls.

Is there any documentation or resource I can go to regarding this met tag, and can I change it ?
