User turning OFF email on device (via Traveler)

I have one traveling user, who is in the habit of going into his phone settings and turning off his mail option in his Traveler/email setup.

He complains then, when he turns it back on, that it takes forever for the mail to show up, is he causing his own issues in doing this?

I recommended he just change the push option to manual if he wants to manually have the mail show up, and that was working, but yesterday he told me he *had* to turn the mail off (I have no idea why).

Can someone advise me on exactly what is happening to his phone when he turns mail off and on like this?  I think Traveler is trying to resync it each time if he changes it from on and off.

Anyhow, thanks in advance for any ideas you can give me

RE:User turning OFF email on device (via Traveler)
Hi Carol,

If the user is using the iOS native applications and going into Settings  --> Mail, Contacts, Calendar --> Traveler mail account and then toggling
Mail off,  he/she is doing more than just stopping the sync process for mail.   When the user then toggles the switch back on,  it will then start the sync
process  from scratch and resync his mail data.    The time to complete the initial sync is dependent on many factors including network speeds,
mail database size,  server loads etc,  and can vary from minutes to hours depending on the environment/user.   You were on the right track switching
to manual sync from Push automatic sync.

Thanks, glad to know I was on the right path!

Been on vacation and haven't been back here for a few weeks, but I appreciate your answer!
