Tip on changing it for now...

Find notes.css in a directory similar to this one:
C:\Notes\framework\shared\eclipse\plugins\com.ibm.notes.branding_3.0.0.20070305-1133\themes
(The date at the end may vary depending on which actual build you are using.)
It should be obvious from the comments which item to change to "black" or whatever color you want.
