i tend to use the basic as the standard version is just too clunky just now - and the basic is way way faster.

there is no de-installer with the basic so what i do is
1,delete the notes.app in applications
2,delete the notes preferance file
3,rename or delete the data directory

i HAVE installed the standard version - by using the installer - and de-installed in the same way. if you want me to supply a system report from the profiler.

I have a free day next week so will be able to try again if you want some NSD info...

it updates the design of the databases and hangs about one min into the start up.. i can actually do some things before it hangs and i have managed to shut it down and start it again before it hangs solid. but i cannot get any version of B2 to run.. mind you B1 is quite stable just now so though i have 8.0.2 in my vmware windows environment i do not have to use that at all.

I will install a CentOs Vmaware and see how the client works in that.
