Subject: Policy settings are not correct
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows XP client
Release: 8.5
Reproducible: Unknown

Specs: Solaris 10 running Domino 8.5 upgraded from 6.5.5 (all fix packs). Clients are Win XP Pro and are 6.5.1. After upgrade in August, everything was working fine. Suddenly yesterday, Desktop Policy settings were invoked on client that are not even specified in the policy itself.

All users woke up today to have the 'Scan unread' enabled, 'Encrypt sent mail' enabled, and 'Always prompt when saving sent mail' enabled. These are not the settings in the policy. They just up and changed.

Various attempts to correct the problem have been made, but the settings still stay the wrong way. This is extremely mysterious and frustrating.

Anyone with any answers? I ended up here -> http://jyriver.blogspot.com/2008/05/lotus-r8-desktop-policy-settings.html but the links are broken and go nowhere. Went here -> http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=463&uid=swg27010353 and tried the fix listed by deleting policies in personal NAB and then tried to inherit the policy - the policy (renamed as part of a different attempt) makes it to the users nab, but still enables those settings incorrectly.

I'm dying here. JYR, Stan Rogers, Gregg Eldred, anyone who can help please contact or respond. jbelvedere@iapa.ca

Thanks in advance

James
