Method 1:

I would suggest you to follow these steps and check if it helps:

1.Click on start, go to control panel.
2.Go to default programs, click on set program access and computer default.
3.Lick on custom, and under choose a default e-mail program select lotus notes.
4.Click on yes.

Method 2:

You can also try pinning lotus notes to start menu and check if it helps, here is the link:
