Release: 8.5.2

I'm running into another Doclink crisis. I just sent an email to all users, asking them to review/update their information in the Domino Directory - and included a doclink to the Directory (names.nsf) on a server.

Multiple users are replying that the link doesn't work (not a known TCP/IP host).

I hop on the user's PC, right-click the doclink in their email (link properties), and find that the link correctly points to their home mail server and database, but clicking the link is followed by a pop-up 'The Remote server is not a known TCP/IP host'.

More digging, found an icon on their Workspace for the same database on a server than no longer exists. Delete the icon, the Doclink now works.

But, the next interesting piece is that it opens a replica on a remote server, not the server listed in the 'Hint' and (in other cases) not the user's home server either.

Question - is there a way, notes.ini parm or something that can be pushed out to cause Doclinks to actually work?

Again, the doclink I sent was from a good current server, I could see the server name in Link Properties, but the Notes Client Never actually looked at the hint because there was already an (old) icon on the workspace.

Once the icon was removed, the Client apparently looked at the Catalog.nsf for the 'first' server that contained a replica of the database, instead of checking their home server.

Thanks for any ideas...
