Copy to personal address book...

I believe what you are wanting can be done, but must be done so at the Notes Client level. Here is the method I use:

- Open the Domino Directory on the server.
- Select the user you want.
- Click "Copy to Personal Address Book"
- Update/Modify the entry in your Personal address book, such as adding a cell number, home address, etc.

If you have your Contacts setup to replicate to your mail file, and your BES populates your BlackBerry with your personal contacts, you should see your updated Personal Contact on your Blackberry with the edited information.
