We use Sametime 8.5.1.
when configuring a new notes client I enter the sametime server as "sametimeserver.domain.com"
When the setup is ready and want to log in to Sametime i get the login screen the first time.
in the first fiels called 'Host server' it always shows the Full Canonical servername (CN= ..). With this name the user cannot login to sametime. If it is changed into the abbreviated name or "sametimeserver.domain.com" logging in works fine.
When checking the sametime server prefs, it also shows hostname and servercommunity name as canonical servername format.

Can anyone tell me why the client comes up with the canonical name, althought the hostname has been entered during client setup. And how/where can I change this so that after setup the sametime login windows does not show the canonical name anymore ?

Does the instant messaging server field in the person document play any role in this ? this is set to Sametimeserver/OU/Org
