Subject: Java API that is similar to the Lotus C API?
Feedback Type: Question
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Application Development
Platform: Linux client - Ubuntu
Release: 8.5.2
Reproducible: Not applicable

For years I've used the Lotus Notes C API to build sync applications that directly read .nsf files.

I'm now working on my first Java application that needs similar low-level integration that I could accomplish using the C API.

Is there any Java API that will let me do this?

My requirements are:

1) the user uploads an nsf file to my servlet
2) my servlet then reads in the forms and documents in the nsf file

I've been looking at Domino Objects, but that looks like I'll need to place the .nsf file in the Lotus Notes client data directory or in the Domino data directory. Is that the only way to do it?

Are there any better open source Java APIs that are similar in power to the Notes C API?
