How do you get the Day value of a Date Field with Server Side Javascript?

var DateField=currentDocument.getItemValueDate("ApprovedDate");

None of the Code below works:

var DayVal=@Day(@Date(DateField));

or

Var DateVal=new Date(DateField));
Var DayVal=DateVal.getDay();
