Subject: Event 35, SideBySide in Windows Application Log
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Error Message
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Unknown

I just ran across a weird problem - troubleshooting a different problem and reviewing Windows Application Logs, I found repeated occurrences of Error 35 - SideBySide.

Appears to be Domino related - as the description of the error is:

Activation context generation failed for "D:\Lotus\Domino\kwad.dll".Error in manifest or policy file "D:\Lotus\Domino\Microsoft.VC80.CRT.MANIFEST" on line 4. Component identity found in manifest does not match the identity of the component requested. Reference is Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195". Definition is Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.4053".

I'm only seeing this on 3 out of 5 of our Windows 2008 R2 (64bit) servers. The two Windows 2003 (32bit) machines don't see this either. All are running 8.5.3 FP6. Looking back as far as the logs went, we were logging this on the same servers while they were running 8.5.3FP3.

I'm not a Windows expert (where's OS/2 when you need it - ha!) - anyone have any ideas??

Thanks!
