RE: move existing users to new traveler server

Unless the HTTP address (host name or IP) that the device is using can be reused to point to the new server, you will have to reconfigure the devices to point to the new address. Given that the existing server address is probably still doing to exist and can't be taken over, you will have to reconfigure the devices.

If you haven't already upgraded to UP1 with all its performance improvements (even if you don't enable HA and still run in the standalone-Derby mode), then you should really consider doing that so that the initial/replace syncs are faster.
