Subject: Embedded Objects in Forms shown as Icons Not Displaying Icons
Feedback Type: Question
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Customization
Platform: Windows XP client
Release: 8.5
Reproducible: Always

Hi Guys,

I'm having a problem with a legacy application I'm updating with the 8.5 Designer client.

Essentially I'm embedding an existing OLE Object (Excel 2007) into a form and asking it to display as an Icon.

From the Embed Object dialog you can specify a custom icon or use the default however every combination I have tried just presents a white box with the object description, not entirely what I desire.

Unfortunately I only have 1 pc with Excel licenses to test with and while I am getting consistent results I can't rule out that the problem is PC based.

Anyone fancy running a quick test and confirm or deny my suspicions.

Cheers,

Michael Stone
