Subject: Attachment mime type for docx application/octet-stream despite httpd.conf entry
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.2
Reproducible: Always

Hi folks,

I'm having an interesting problem with attachment mime types on some old school teamrooms. When you upload .docx files, they come through with the mime type of application/octet-stream, which seems to cause some clients to treat them as zip files.

I researched this and saw lots of posts suggesting an update of the httpd.cnf file, so I checked this and can verify that the file on the server contains all of the MS Office types and should return application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document

I'm at a loss to work out why this would happen. My server is running 8.5.2FP2 and I'm using the old fashioned web configuration documents instead of internet sites (mainly because it still works and nobody ever got around to changing it).

Any suggestions?
