Some things to look at.

I assume when this happens that the user is not taking an action to kill the client. For example, program is not responding dialog and respond OK (to quit/kill).

When this happens, is there ever a javacore file located in the <DATA>\workspace\logs directory?

If both above are true, then running NSD in monitor mode may help to capture the fault.
From a command prompt, run, "NSD -monitor" while the Notes client is running.

If the client crashes again, this should capture the faulting stack.
While this will collect the additional data, it is somewhat invasive and should only be done to collect the data.

Do you have a PMR number that can be reviewd?
