We are installing Lotus Notes 8.5.3 FP1 (BASIC) on XenApp 6.5 Citrix farm (2 servers) for the first time with a true Multi-user install, (Notes home drives on T:\username\Lotus\Notes\Data)
First off, I know that this configuration is not supported by IBM ( http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21086958 )
But I'm hoping that someone else may have found either a workaround to our issue, or can provide some advise on how to implement this in a stable and supported configuration.
Our problem is that some users are intermittently seeing the wrong names when they launch Lotus Notes, and after logging in as the wrong person, they basically get the other users entire notes workspace, bookmarks etc.
It's as if the !USERNAME! used during the Notes install, is getting mixed up within the Citrix environment.
When we see this issue, we can confirm that the users T:\ is mapped correctly, and if we test at a DOS level, %USERNAME% is working correctly, but just not within Lotus Notes.
The supported configuration is to use the servers local C:\ drive to store each users local Notes files, but we have some concerns about the process \ time taken for the synchronisation of local notes profile data between the Citrix servers in the farm.
We may look at Roaming in LOtues Notes, but as we are implementing BASIC not STANDARD, we cant use File Server Roaming, only Notes server storage.
Can you provide any information on how this might work in our environment, if we choose to move our users Notes files locally to the Citrix server ?
There are plenty of technotes describing the use of MULTIUSERBASEDIR in Citrix environment, but I haven't found anything that indicates how this configuration works in the real world when a user could potentially have 300MB in their local data folder through normal use of Notes i.e. Autosave \ Contacts \ Desktop8.ndk etc.
Any advise would be appreciated.
