Created invitations display as ghosted on iPhones

We are noticing that after updating to 8.5.3.3, new invitations created on either the Notes client or the iPhone (4, 4s and 5) with ios6, the event displays as ghosted on the iPhone for the chair, but are not ghosted for the invitees. We are also seeing red bars the left of the event box for some events in the all the notes calendar views.
