Dojo & Domino

I hope you will find dojo actually was installed with your server - in the domino\data\domino\js\dojo-1.1.1 directory.

We use it - in DWA (for the sidebar control), in the web server (rich text), and for some of the xpage controls (DateTime, typeahead, rich text). We get to it with this uri: 'domjs/dojo-1.1.1'.

What's in the dojo-1.1.1 directory is a product of Dojo's shrinksafe build tool, so it's small - good for perfomance - but not very readable. Placing the dojo version number in the uri also allows us to ask the browser to cache the results too - so far we're finding performance to be pretty good.

What kind of information were you looking to find in a Dojo road map? My guess is that you don't much care that we use it, or that IBM is investing in it - promoting it internally for use in many of its products - instead, you want to know how you can use it directly?

We are still working on our infrastructure to support Dojo, like providing the JavaScript sources for use in DDE web preview for 8.5 - too soon to say if that will make it. Once it's solid, I hope we can open it up, but for now I don't have any details on how you would build your own Dojo controls (beyond, say, the uri you need to get the files... :-) because we're not yet ready for that.

What kind of Dojo support would you like to see us provide?
