Option 2

I would go with option 2. However, you'll need to make some changes to the Notes.ini and you'll want to install Domino in the same folder structure as you have on the R5 server. Including the data folder.

While you could do a restore of the files, usually I simply copy/FTP the data from the old server to the new one. I believe it goes faster that way. Also, I am not talking about a Notes copy, rather an operating system copy.
