Trying to Store Text in a Numeric Field

Hi,

In my case, I got the "Item value exceeds maximum allowable size" web server error 500 when trying to save a web form with text in an input field that was a number type of field back in the Notes form.

In a Notes session, this type of error produces a "field contains incorrect value" error, but the message is different on the web.

The reason I did not notice the text data in the number field was because the doc was old. It had been filled out years ago so I was not entering data into a blank form to begin with. I had run an agent some time ago to set a text string into a bunch of fields in the doc and type checking is never imposed in those circumstances. Once I tried to save the doc, that is when Domino noticed the problem.
