Previous fix packs?

Do you have any previous fix packs installed on that client or going from 8.5.3 to 8.5.3 FP3? Try installing the previous fixpacks first and then FP3. I know you're not supposed to have to do so, but I had this issue and was able to resolve it after hours of uninistalling and reinstalling the client, by installing FP1 and FP2 (I think I did both and not just FP2)before installing FP3.
