LN Client error: DA failed opening Primary Domino Directory

We're using Lotus Notes client (8.5.0) in a Citrix environment (Presentation Server 4.5). We have another program that sends emails via Lotus Notes client. This is working well.

We have setup new Citrix environment (XenApp 6) with a newer version of Lotus Notes client (8.5.2FP2 SHF75).

In the new Citrix environment, We have found that there are issues with sending emails via Lotus Notes client.

For some users, they have no problems in sending emails. For other users it doesn't work.

Looking into the LN client's log, the following is found:

"Directory Assistance failed opening Primary Domino Directory names.nsf, error: This database is currently in use by another person or process, and cannot be accessed at this time. In order to share a Notes database, it must be accessed via a Domino Server by all users of the database."

I have ran "FixUp -F" over the servers' address book, DA and a secondary address book. No issues found and we still have the same problem.

I have created new user setup (i.e. fresh install, new local LN applications) and still fails.
Have compared (working vs not working) notes.ini, and still fails.

Has anyone come across the above error message and managed to resolve it?
