Subject: Installing NotesSQL 8.0 with Domino Server 8.5.1 (64 bit)
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Error Message
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.1
Reproducible: Always
We are implementing a Domino Server (64 bit) Release 8.5.1 on a Dell T610 Server with 24 GB of RAM running Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit). We hope to eliminate "Out of Memory" errors that we are having on our Domino Server (32 bit) Release 8.5.1 on older Dell servers running Windows Server 2003 R2.
The Domino Server software and its Data folder have been installed on a SSD labeled the "F" drive. The Windows OS is installed on the "C" drive.
I am trying to install NotesSQL 8.0 in order to access data in the Notes databases. I know that NotesSQL 8.0 is 32 bit software and that a 64 bit version is not available.
First, is 32 bit NotesSQL and 64 bit Domino Server a valid combination that can be made to work together?
Second, if it is a valid combination, must NotesSQL 8.0 be installed on the "F" drive, the "C" drive, or doesn't it matter?
I have attempted to install NotesSQL without success on either the "F" drive or the "C" drive. In both cases I have received the following error:
"Setup cannot locate a supported version of the required Notes or Domino software"
I had added the location of the Domino folder and the Domino Data folder to the system Path environment variable hoping to resolve the error, but I was not successful.
I know by default, setup.exe wants to install NotesSQL in C:\NotesSQL. I have read that setup.exe can be run from a Windows cmd prompt with a /p option to specify the destination of the installation and tried to specify a destination in Program Files (x86).
Am I on the right track, or is there something else that I have not considered?
