Designer not friendly, or even good

I read with interest the previous posts, as I am once again frustrated by the lack of responsiveness of the designer client. I code primarily in LS and it's painful. Additionally, I'm an instructor and shudder to think of teaching my next Fundamentals class to a bunch of non-techincal people. What would have been nice would be a 2 different perspectives: one so that we could make the client look like the old version (for the people that have no interest in doing XPages) and one with all the new bells and whistles. I'm getting ready to throw the baby out with the bath water and go back to 8.0.2.
