What I generally do is to delete the user right away. (Address Book -> Delete Person).
If there is a need for their internet email to go to someone else, then I add their internet address as an alias for that user.
Internally, any email sent to that user's Notes address would be bounced back to the sender.
That having been said, the couple times that we couldn't delete the account right away for whatever reason, I:
1) Changed their internet password
2) Click 'Deny Access' button in Traveler
3) Removed their name from the ACL of their mail file
4) Added them to the terminations group
5) Removed them from any other groups they might be in
6) Removed their access from any other applications/databases to which they may have had access
7) Ensured that they weren't already logged on thru Webmail/pop/imap/Notes - if so, boot them off
8) Worried that they could still somehow get in...
Generally, I feel that deleting them from the NAB removed the 'link' from webmail, pop, imap, etc that these services need, as well as denies them access with a Notes client (I have Security Settings 'Compare public keys:' set to: 'Enforce key checking for all Notes users and Domino servers' - which means that all Notes connections are compared against the address book. If the user doc is not longer there, the key cannot be authenticated, and the connection is denied.)
