Subject: Excel VBA issue since upgrading to Notes 8.5
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Application Development
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.1
Reproducible: Always

Since upgrading our Lotus Notes from v7 to v8.5.1 FP3, we discovered that our Excel VBA fails to attach a file correctly.

Our Excel documents have a macro assigned to a button that performs the following:

Saves the current document to a temp director, then uses this code to Create a new memo with the active workbook attached:

ActiveWorkbook.SendMail “Russell.Test@Test.COM”, "Test E-Mail", False

The problem we have is since the upgrade to 8.5.1, this macro now creates a new memo but the attachment is a tmp file not xls.

We can save the attachment from the new meno, rename and it to xls and it’s fine but why is it named tmp now?

The document is saved correctly first to the temp directory ( modified date confirms this and when retrying it, Excel prompts to overwrite the existing file ) .

Has anyone come across this before?

I’ve re-installed version 7 and it works fine. Very strange.
