ALL RESOLVED!!

Here's how I got it to work.
Changed the Working directory path under the location property of the application properties section from what it always had set (pointing originally to their data directory in their personal mapped network drive) changed this to the path to the program folder e.g M:\Program Files\lotus\notes\, worked like a charm
