HotSpot Resource Link vs @URLOpen in Firefox...opening shared drive

Hello.

If anybody has a minute, I have an issue with the following paramters...

Notes client
@URLOpen
shared network drive
Firefox

if I create a HotSpot Resource Link, and I set it as URL -- Computed -- where the formula lifts the shared drive path from a field stored in the document, then slaps "file:" in front of it...like this...

1) shared_drives_field = "\\shared_network_drive\folder"

2) Computed HotSpot Resource Link

SN=share_drives_field;

SN:="file:" + SN;

SN

3) this will launch fine with both Firefox and IE.

4) However, shared_drives_field can be multivalue....so I created a Computed Action HotSpot with a formula including an @DialogBox to allow the user to choose one of any number shared drives, then feed the choice into @URLOpen

But Firefox doesn't do anything with @URLOpen("file:\\shared_network_drive\folder")

So, in a nutshell, for Firefox....HotSpot Resource Link is able to handle a "file:..." fed into it...but if the same "file:.." is sent from @URLOpen, it bombs or is locked.

but I can't allow the @DialogBox flexibility in a HotSpot Resource Link...which is why I used the Action Hotspot with @DialogBox and @URLOpen.

Does anybody have any ideas? Thank you so much for reading this.
